Weso presents readers with a memoir of food and traditional ways of life for the Menominee people of Wisconsin’s northern woods, taking readers on a cook’s journey in search of the good seeds,
or manomin--also known as wild rice. Along the way, Weso educates readers on the proper way to cook a beaver, the harvest and cooking of manomin, survival hunting, and a great many other
aspects of traditional native life. The author is a faculty member of Kansas City Kansas Community College. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
