This collection of case studies is intended to be a supplementary companion text to author Hossain’s reference work Central Banking and Monetary Policy in the Asia-Pacific. As such, this
supplement includes discussions and interpretations of monetary policy, inflation, and relevant institutions governing financial and monetary policy. Individual case studies are included for 12
countries of the Asia Pacific region: Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and the United States. The author provides
reviews and analyses in a historical context the particular experience of each country. The primary focus is how the different types of institutions in existence in each country conducted
monetary policy since the 1960s, and how they affected the economy of each country. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
