In this book, editor David Wessel has collected a series of academic essays and expert opinions on the topic of the management of the U.S. national debt. The text argues that, while there are a
great many books out there that examine the amount of national debt and the relative need for deficit spending, there are very few that examine the ways in which the U.S. Treasury actually
manages the deficit. Each chapter of the text uses responses from a variety of public and private sector experts regarding how the Treasure manages its borrowing. The editor is director of the
Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at the Brookins Institution, Washington D.C. and a journalist. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
