This collection of recent studies looks at issues related to workers’ participation in company financial performance and workplace decision-making. Part 1 considers the empirical effects and
correlates of ownership and participation, with material on barriers to the creation and survival of worker cooperatives, and the effects of cooperative membership and participation in
decision-making on job satisfaction among home health aids. Chapters in Part 2 describe different systems of ownership and participation, looking at employee ownership in Russia, and financial
and decision-making participation of marginalized small farmers through the Pragathi Bandhu model in India. Part 3 is devoted to theory and policy, with discussion of worker ownership and
collaborative production, and how the type of ownership affects workplace democracy. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
