Lies in the workplace range from benign to actually destructive of the organization as a whole. Goman (Kinsey Consulting Services) covers all of them in her latest book, while reporting on
interesting research results, such as a Notre Dame study that found that lying is actually damaging to one’s health. In perhaps the most useful part of the book, she presents 30 body language
signs to detect a liar and follows with 20 verbal clues. She then goes on to discuss how best to deal with the different types. Interspersed are a variety of psychological insights, including a
whole chapter on why we believe liars. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
