This collection of essays re-examines John Maynard Keynes’ General Theory of Employment Interest and Money in light the 20th century and the current economy. There are similarities between the
contemporary condition that include high unemployment, low growth, and mounting public debt. Three themes run through the essays: Keynes’ relevance for today, recent economic development and
the economy as a whole, and teaching Keynes. Specific essays explore the history of the General Theory, economics as a moral science, Keyne’ concept of time, economics and fractals, the
subprime crisis, capital markets and economic growth, and more. The contributors are mostly European economists. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
