In the Workforce Aging in the New Economy project, McMullin (U. of Western Ontario) and other Canadian sociologists studied whether and how gender and age structure work and influence workplace
cultures within small information technology firms. Following an overview of the current IT landscape and key concepts and methods used in the project, contributors examine gender and age
separately as factors that shape workplace culture. They found that gender inequalities, some reinforced by workers' reliance on gendered resources, and age stereotypes inform organizational
regimes even in the new economy of non-standard forms of work, and discuss implications for change. Distributed by UTP Distribution. Annotation 穢2011 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
