A study by students at the University of Notre Dame of the Italian town of Artena was designed to provide an alternative model for planning to balance the quick-profit motivation for
conventional public and private planning. After a preface by the mayor, the report covers off to a good start; the usefulness of the work; the recovery of urban integrity; a city for everyone;
and the allied arts of observation, memory, and duty. In parallel columns of Italian and English text, and color photographs, drawings, and water colors, it analyzes and suggests changes not
only in technical aspects of buildings and infrastructure, but in the way space and its use is conceived. There is no index. Distributed in the US by International Publishers Marketing (IPM).
