The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) advocates for the value, worth, impact and influence of academic libraries in the face of the serious financial pressures found on every
campus in the country. Academic libraries are at risk of losing ground in their campus role by the flourishing of internet information and by an eroding user base. The ACRL describes the many
opportunities for critical and successful advocacy--several are of a collaborative nature. Two bodies of advocacy are outlined here: advocacy and its publics, and advocacy and the campus
milieu. Royalties from the sale of this book will be donated to Friends of ACRL Advocacy Fund. Annotation 穢2010 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
