At Home in Tennessee celebrates the antebellum decorative arts of Tennessee by depicting twenty historic homes that have retained their original furnishings. While many of the great historic interiors of Tennessee are included, i.e., Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, the selection of the featured homes was based on the fine craftsmanship of their interior architecture, their wealth of decorative painting, and the beauty and authenticity of their interior décor. Each entry includes a brief history of the homes construction and occupants, detailed descriptions of its décor, and naturally lit color photographs.
