Shirley and The Professor

A spirited heiress marries the brother of a Yorkshire mill owner whose use of labor-saving devices in his factory lead to unemployment and workmen's riots during the early 1800s in Shirley, and in The Professor, a Yorkshire millworker escapes a humiliating clerkship to teach in a Belgian girls' school and falls in love with a charismatic teacher.
