From 1945 on, the United States became increasingly involved in the Vietnam War, until the Communist Party seized Saigon in 1975, causing millions of Vietnamese to flee Vietnam for freedom and human-rights protection. These refugees still require treatment for the inner wounds inflicted by the war.
