In an attempt to remedy the lack of information on psychological concerns people have at the end of their lives, editors Werth (U. of Akron) and Blevins (U. of Arkansas for Medical Sciences)
both of whom are psychologists seasoned in this concern bring together ten chapters by (mostly) US contributors. The aim is to help medical professionals understand ways to complement the
physical aspects of dying. Chapters focus on culture, ethics, legal issues, spirituality, psychological and psychosocial issues, including depression, and hospice care. Also discussed is
attention paid to caregivers in the situation. A bibliography is provided at the end of each chapter. Annotation 穢2005 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
