In revised and extended versions of eight presentations to a 2013 conference on John Milton at Middle Tennessee State University, scholars of English literature look at his work in terms of
materiality and the senses, human embodiment, angelic embodiment, and Milton’s materialism redux. Among their topics are the fragrance of the fall, Milton on the move: walking and
self-knowledge in Paradise Lost, dark looks and red smiles: Homeric gesture and the problem of Milton’s angels, and the scanning of error: Areopagitica and three-dimensional printed guns.
