The Darkhouse

Fifteen-year-old Gemma thinks her life on a small East Coast island with her father, Jonah, is not an exciting one. Her mother ran off when she was an infant, and Jonah, an amateur scientist, spends most of his time conducting experiments he thinks will one day bring him fame.
   But then Gemma learns of a sinister experiment Jonah plans for an island newcomer. And just when she thinks she’s learned the darkest secret there is, Gemma discovers that her ＂father＂ may, in fact, be her kidnapper...and responsible for the death of the twin sister she never knew she had.
