As part of a project that includes almost 690 Akkadian literary texts in all genres from the third to the mid-second millennia BCE in both electronic and print versions, Wasserman presents all
34 known Akkadian texts dealing with love and sex. Though Sumerian love songs have been extensively collected and discussed, he says, Akkadian counterparts, though treated separately by various
authors, have not been collected systematically or addresses as a whole. He aims to fill this gap and to provide a modern edition accompanied by a comprehensive discussion of the corpus.
