Edme Bouchardon

Edmé Bouchardon is a famous French sculptor of the 18th century and commissioning artist for King Louis XV. He encouraged a return to classical ideals in art and had a considerable influence upon his contemporaries. Although only some of his sculptures still exist today, a multitude of his other artwork including paintings and sketches have been preserved.
