This, the second edition of the text (the first being published in 1976) is a collection of songs performed by cowboy Glenn Ohrlin, who was named a National Heritage Fellow by the National
Endowment for the Arts in 1985. These are songs Ohrlin learned working as a cowboy, and most date from the early 20th century. Ohrlin introduces each song, discussing its provenance and
meaning. Each song is scored. Of special note are the included photographs of Ohrlin and his compatriots on the ranch and on the stage. An important collection of Americana. Annotation ©2017
