內容簡介

This book defines civic innovation as a new and vital research area in development economics and development studies. The volume presents a series of empirical studies and contextualized analyses of people and groups on the ‘interface of economic development’ and their efforts towards building social justice as they address poverty, discriminations, inequality and injustice.

Bringing together scholars from a range of disciplines, the book explores themes relating to pluralist economics, social inclusion, local economies, institutional economics, fair trade, value chains, labour movements, civic driven change, social movements, and transnational feminist activism. The aim is to present a holistic approach to today’s development processes, which is firmly grounded in the real world.
