This book describes a theater project to engage elderly residents of long-term care centers. The two-year project serving residents of Luther Manor, which culminated in a group performance, was
led and facilitated by students, professors, and performers affiliated with the University of Wisconsin and the Sojourn Theater Company. The book offers perspectives of students, professors,
and theater organizers and performers, as well as voices of care-center staff and volunteers. The book’s readership includes artists seeking cross-sector partnerships, students wishing to learn
more about community-engaged arts practice, and those working to transform long-term care experiences. About 20 pages of appendices offer a syllabus, prompts for activities, a timeline, team
