The author started a street style blog to study the experiences of street style photographers who post their images to blogs and to illustrate the curatorial practices of these bloggers and
their commonalities with visual anthropologists and fashion scholars, as well as the increasing incorporation of bloggers into the fashion industry and the insider/outsider,
professional/amateur, participant/observer positions involved. He describes the history of street style photography, then surveys street style blogs from around the world and the techniques and
preoccupations that bloggers share with anthropologists. He describes his experiences blogging and the larger social, cultural, and economic contexts, and the status of street style blogs
today. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
