Sue Barnett is sixty and recently retired. She has an ambition to travel, and while in the Canadian Rockies Sue briefly meets retired cattle farmer - Sam Carter, twenty years her senior. After agreeing to be pen pals, Sue returns to her family, but the events that follow have a profound effect not only on Sue, but all her family.
