A strong debut collection of poetry from an up-and-coming Toronto poet. James is well-connected in Toronto, and has been selling books at Type Books for a long time. These are slightly surreal
lyric poems. There’s an incredible awareness of pop culture in them, a playfulness and a sly awareness of the world. There’s a poem where Stephen Harper walks the author to school and another
poem about someone hunting Yetis. Lindsay covers a lot of interesting ground in this book and is a talent to be watched.
