A complex relationship and reckless alcohol consumption lead Carrère to a period of crisis; he found refuge in Christianity. Twenty years later, he conducts a wide search on the origins of Christianity in relation to the writings of Paul, along with the gospel of Luke, one of the Evangelist of the new faith that begun with a small Jewish sect.
