This book is devoted to aviation films and the histories of the aircraft featured in them, particularly recording their serial numbers and registrations. Over the years, the author has viewed
around 250 of the 350 titles featured in the book. He notes that, while there is a growing abundance of excellent aviation film material available in various books and magazines and on the
internet, it takes lengthy, in-depth searching to find what you want. Also, many books published in the past on this subject have usually and mostly focused on one specific area: stunt flying
or films from one specific period in history. Information on aircraft identities in movies across the whole genre is scattered, inaccurate and troublesome to locate and authenticate. Beck
brings it all together--aircraft types, serial numbers, registrations, locations and brief history. The book is organized in sections on feature films, selected television series and TV movies,
and aircraft manufacturers. Annotation ©2016 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
