Get in the face of rock ’n’ roll legends.
Rock Critic Confidential showcases fifty years of the irreverent rock ’n’ roll interviews and reviews of Jeffrey Morgan, biographer of Alice Cooper and the Stooges and
veteranCREEM magazine editor. This profusely illustrated volume features dozens of rare and previously unpublished photographs of rock ’n’ roll legends, from George Harrison to
Courtney Love.
This romp through the annals of music history covers some of the era’s top rock ’n’ rollers as conducted and written by Jeffrey Morgan. Interviewees include Lou Reed, Pete Townshend, Ted
Nugent, Kiss, Fran Lebowitz, and Bob Dylan. Other acts covered include the Rolling Stones, Cheap Trick, Yoko Ono, Alice Cooper, and a slew of others.
Morgan is known for getting his subjects to open up in ways that they never would for anyone else. The close encounters with heavyweight sparring partners featured here are prime examples of
that craft, illustrated with the photography of veteran rock and fashion photographer (and former CREEM staffer) Robert Matheu.
