Published by the Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies (ACMRS), this volume consists of an English translation of the verse narratives of late medieval German author Heinrich Kaufringer. The volume provides background on the literary and social-historical context of the narratives, the manuscripts, and their textual reception, then presents the narratives, which relate stories tied to such topics as love, the devil, religion, wine, cowardice, communication, trust, confidence, greed, compassion, character weakness and strength, foolishness, and intelligence.
