Eng presents students, academics, researchers, and art historians with an investigation of the history and cultural significance of ceramic ornament in Chinese architecture. The author argues
that the ceramics used for visual impact in the roofing of ancient Chinese halls are worthy of study in their own right. He investigates the changing materials and techniques employed in the
