In this volume, Glaser’s reinterpretation, or translation of Chaucer’s tragic romance, readers are presented with a version of the story that, translated into Modern English, attempts to
preserve the rhyme-royal stanza of the Middle English Original, while making the text accessible to contemporary readers. The translated text is presented along with an introduction by
Christine Chism, a translator’s preface, and additional suggestions for further reading. The translator is a faculty member of Western Kentucky University. Chism is a faculty member of the
University of California, Los Angeles. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
