Scace and DelPrince present this textbook of floral design, beginning with a discussion of careers in floriculture and a history of floral design. Foundational concepts of tool use, plant
structure, function, and harvest, and general design principles follow. The book then zeroes in on details of flower and foliage selection and shows the application of design principles to
floral arrangement as a function of site characteristics and event context. Weddings, anniversaries, holidays, and sympathy arrangements are discussed in particular. The last few chapters
discuss permanent botanicals, potted arrangements, and business aspects of floriculture. In addition to the table of contents an index of procedures is presented, and review questions and
activities are given at the end of each chapter. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
