Addressing the ongoing debate about encouraging the diffusion of renewable energy technologies in emerging economies, this thesis surveys the perspective of private sector companies regarding
barriers to adoption, explores how public policies and other factors affect the investment decisions of early adopters, and suggests measures for increasing the share of grid-connected
renewable energy power generation through private sector investments. The study examines wind farms as an example of grid-connected renewable energy technologies and solar home systems as an
example of off-grid renewable energy technologies. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
