This is the third volume in a set of three books for pre-service and new teachers, administrators, and policy makers. Drawing on current research in psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics,
the book examines curriculum for teaching English as a non-native language in various contexts: English as a second language (ESL) and English as a foreign language (EFL). Four types of English
language teaching (ELT) curricula are described: linguistic based, content based, learner centered, and learning centered curricula. The first part of the book describes teaching contexts,
explains the process of curriculum design for specific contexts, and considers general topics such as technology use and quality assurance. Later chapters give examples of the four types of ELT
curricula. Each chapter opens with a brief vignette and ends with discussion questions. Annotation ©2014 Ringgold, Inc., Portland, OR (protoview.com)
