This work offers a collection of previously published academic papers written and co-written by influential economist David Audretsch and others. Most papers touch on Audretsch’s knowledge
spillover theory of entrepreneurship, which asserts that knowledge spillovers alone do not generate growth; rather, such spillovers must be transmitted through entrepreneurial actions. There
are several case studies from Germany. Some specific subjects discussed include university policies, agency and governance in strategic entrepreneurship, transnational social capital, and
sources of entrepreneurial start-up capital. Original pagination is retained along with this book’s pagination. Some papers are reprinted in two columns, and in varying font sizes. Annotation
