This volume collects 15 papers presented at the U. of Connecticut conference on "The Role of Innovations in Enhancing US Competitiveness in Global Markets," held in June 2012. The papers are
presented in sections on strategic organization and innovation, corporate leadership and innovation, innovation challenges facing the US, and approaches to the practice and application of
innovation. Specific topics include: learning and innovation in collaborative innovation networks, the roles of large acquirers in US global competitiveness, conceptualizing the climate for
