chronologically and by song, he draws on histories and critical studies, biographies and memoirs, obituaries, internet sources, and newspaper and magazine interviews to describe the stories,
and includes information on the songwriters. He presents only songs that are considered to be standards that have outlasted their initial popularity or those that have unusual stories behind
