Fifty Major Economists

The 50 economists selected for profiling in this text are organized chronologically, from Thomas Mun (1571-1641 through Paul Krugman (1953- ), who is one of two individuals newly included in this third edition. The other is Hyman Minsky (1919-1996). John Locke and Nicholas Kaldor dropped off the roster to keep the selection of 50 intact, and the author explains his decision in the preface. Profiles are about three or four pages in length and include a summary of major contributions and listings of works by and about the economist under consideration.
