Hettich (psychology, DePaul U.) and Landrum (psychology, Boise State U.) help undergraduate psychology students prepare to enter the workforce after graduation. Rather than only outlining
occupations and skills, they explain how to engage in self-assessment; use campus opportunities to enhance self-reflection and career development; establish transferable skills that employers
look for; improve awareness of continuing psychosocial development; master job-search skills; recognize the roles of organizational culture, communication, motivation, job satisfaction and
attitude, and self-management; and prepare for changing relationships and further career and life transitions. Some additional authors contribute chapters, and the authors draw from surveys or
reports of job-related issues and examples based on experiences of former students and actual events. Annotation ©2013 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
