The universe is not made of atoms; it's made of tiny stories.
To create The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories: Volume 2 — "half short story collection, half communal poem" (Flavorwire) — Joseph Gordon-Levitt, known within the hitRECord.org community as RegularJOE, directs thousands of collaborators to tell tiny stories through words and art. With the help of the entire creative collective, Gordon-Levitt culls, edits, and curates the massive numbers of contributions into a finely tuned collection that is at once "ingeniously illustrated . . . witty [and] meaningful" (Entertainment Weekly). Once again, the "tiny" book, pocket-sized with a 4" x 6" trim, brings together art and voices from around the world to unite and tell stories that defy size.
Coming off the highly successful publication of Volume 1 (named a best book of the month by editors at Amazon in November 2011), the second book in the series features 62 contributors from the 14,946 contributions to the Tiny Stories collaboration on hitRECord.org. New contributions are already being accepted for Volume 3, at www.hitrecord.org/records/843281, scheduled for publication in Fall 2013 from It Books.
The Tiny Stories collaboration began in the spring of 2010 and continues to be a hive of activity. Artists submit their writing and illustrations, and are encouraged to edit and remix others' contributions for the tiny books. As with all of hitRECord's money-making productions, profits for the Tiny Stories series are split 50-50 between hitRECord and the book’s contributing artists.
