The editors (both of the U. of Sheffield School of Management, UK) present a multidisciplinary collection from across different areas of management studies and the broader political economy
tradition exploring the relationship between spatial and temporal differences in institutional frameworks and firm-level outcomes. The editors have worked towards a theoretical diversity that
includes relationship or socio-economic approaches to institutions and a geographical diversity that ranges beyond the most prosperous countries of Western Europe, North America, and the Far
East. Eleven chapters exploring different approaches to institutions open the collection. Three chapters then consider more general and developed country perspectives, while the final five
chapters focus on institutions in emerging and developing economies. Annotation ©2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
