Dear Max

Nine-year-old Max, an only child who lives with his widowed mother, writes to his favorite author, D J Lucas. The two begin a correspondence of short, mostly humorous letters and postcards, sharing personal experiences and suggestions about writing (Max wants to become an author, while D J Lucas is agonizing over her latest book).
