Editors Pindado and Requejo both teach finance and are affiliated with the Family Business Centre at the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain. They point out in their introduction that the study of
family businesses is in its infancy, and they have assembled this collection of papers on the subject, with an emphasis on corporate finance and governance perspectives. Thirty previously
published articles address the role of family in corporate governance; family firms' control structures, performance, strategic decision making, succession, governance mechanisms; and corporate
governance in small family firms. Sources include Journal of Banking and Finance, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, and Journal of Business Venturing, among
others. The anthology is not indexed. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
