Editor Salzberger (law, U. of Haifa, Israel; he's also president of the European Association for Law and Economics) points out in his introductory essay that there is no field of innovation law
or innovation economics. Yet the legal and economic issues arising in connection with the increasing importance of innovation are waiting for study. He has undertaken to seek out pioneering
writings that are laying out basic concepts and a direction for theoretical and empirical studies that acknowledge the fundamental role of innovation now and in the future. This anthology
presents 22 previously published articles and excerpts arranged according to the broad themes of the economics of innovation, intellectual property (broadly, and in particular industries),
anti-trust, torts, and regulation. Sources include American Economic Review, Columbia Law Review, Antitrust Bulletin, and Temple Journal of Science, Technology and Environmental Law, among
others. There is no index. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
