Moore (journalism, Cardiff University) gathers international contributors in journalism, social anthropology, immigration and settlement studies, and media and communications to investigate
issues related to reporting on migration. Section 1 presents work on migration reporting and the discursive construction of crisis, with essays on paradigms of refugee representation in
humanitarian discourse, and the positioning of migration during the prime ministerial debates of the UK's 2010 general election. Section 2 collects work on crisis reporting and the
representation of migration. Paper topics in this section include human trafficking and national security in Serbia, Fujianese migration and the British press coverage of the Dover incident,
and the climate refugee crisis. The final section of the book offers perspectives on the management of migration in journalistic practice, and closes with a journalist's reflection on personal
experience. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
