Surgeon to the Sioux

Sam Blair was a peaceful man who took his Hippocratic Oath seriously. The people of Fitch's Landing in the Nebraska Territory knew this and struggled to repay him as best they could for keeping them in good health. But it just wasn't enough, especially when Clara Freeman, Sam's intended, decided to marry and move east with a cavalry officer. Heading back East himself, Sam was intercepted on the trail by a patrol of Oglala Sioux and taken prisoner.
