DeVoto (emeritus, music, Tufts U.) has revised two presentations and combined them with new material on the piece of classical music. They draw on his analysis of the music itself, and its place in history and in Viennese composer Franz Shubert's (1797-1828) body of work. He discusses background, Schubert and the orchestra, the four movements in turn, the harmony of mixed modes, and envoi. He has not indexed the book.
