內容簡介

Published in association with the Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) Project, this volume focuses on the processes and outcomes of corporate entrepreneurship in the family context rather than on succession of ownership and management. Au (Chinese U. of Hong Kong) introduces the Project's theoretical framework and methodology and the emerging field of family business studies, and offers suggestions for research. Themes treated in case studies centered on diverse family enterprises in Australia, India, and Greater China include learning entrepreneurship through osmosis, the advantages and challenges of the long apprenticeship period between generations, linkage of success to the larger community, and how overseas- educated family members facilitate success by introducing new knowledge and skills. Enterprises range from producing condiments to high-tech products. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
