Russian Fairytales

These books are charming, contemporary interpretations of traditional Russian fairytales. Many cultures boast fairytale traditions and Russia's is particularly rich, with magical creatures, beautiful maidens and handsome princes adventuring in exotic tsardoms of long ago. Becker transforms three classic stories - "Mistress of the Malachite Mountain", "Prince Vidor and the Firebird" and "Silver Hoof" - into a fairytale book for adults. Vivienne Becker is a freelance journalist and jewellery historian living in London. Originally schooled in the antique jewellery trade, Becker moved into journalism and today writes on antique and modern jewellery for a range of publications. Becker lectures regularly on jewellery and her books include Fabulous Costume Jewellery (1997), Art Nouveau Jewellery (1998) and Daniel Swarovski (2005).
