This book collects 15 cases which demonstrate emerging trends in human resources in both newly developed and still developing regions of China, encompassing Chinese enterprises and
multinationals operating in China in sectors such as airlines, natural resource extraction, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. Based on interviews with general managers and HR managers in
China in 2008 and 2009, the cases cover a range of human resource problems in private, state-owned, and joint venture operations, illustrating solutions devised within the Chinese context. Each
