The result of a joint project of Yale U. and the City College of New York, this five-volume set aims to make Annan's writings available to scholars and policymakers. The editorial stance is
deliberately neutral--neither promoting nor interpreting a particular point of view. Krasno (political science, City College of New York, and Yale U.) explains the selection criteria for
inclusion in this five-volume reference, including the stipulation that with few exceptions, the papers were either written by Kofi Annan, or to him, during his tenure as Secretary-General.
They include speeches, letters, statements to the press, meeting notes, articles, reports, and transcripts of interviews. The documents--many of which were declassified for this project and
appear here publicly for the first time--are annotated with key words, contextual information, and clarification of abbreviations. Arrangement is chronological. Each volume is indexed
individually, and the fifth volume includes a comprehensive index. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
