Symondson had many conversations with post-war anti-modernist British architect Bower (1903-94), and has written at least one other book about him and his work. This biography began as a
celebration of his 90th birthday in 1993, and is accompanied by many new color photographs of the four complete churches and the restorations, alterations, and decorations that he designed. He
is particularly known for restoration after the bombing in World War II. Among the topics are early education and practice, St. Paul's Cathedral and St. Vedast's, Westminster Abbey, St.
Edmundsbury Cathedral, and the drawing office. Distributed in North America by The David Brown Book Co. Annotation 穢2012 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
